OUR HISTORY

1956
Grupo IDESA is born along with SOSA being founded at Tlalnepantla in order to produce PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE.
1963
IDESA is built
1966
DMSA is founded while SOSA moves to Puebla.
1969
IDESA starts its production at Puebla.
1972
DMSA starts to produce maleic anhydride at Puebla.
1974
GLIMEX is founded.
1979
POLIDESA begins operations in a co-investment alongside to the federal government. UIT foundation, GLIMEX starts producing at Tlaxacala that same year.
1981
IDESA Group formalizes its creation as a holding.
1983
DECORPI is created.
1986
SOSA inaugurates a new plant to produce phthalic anhydride at the UIT.
1987
IDESA Group buys POLIDESA and GLIMEX.
1988
POLIDESA´s capacity is doubled thanks to the developing of technology on their own.
1995
POLIDESA starts to produce EPS at Tlaxcala.
1997
UIC starts operations.
1999
GLIMEX and IDESA merge.
2005
NOVIDESA is created
2006
CDTI is created at UIC.
2007
Negociación ALVI is bought, Grupo IDESA acquires new corporative offices.
2010
After the adquisition of Egon Meyer, distribution activities grew and BraskemIDESA sign a contract with PEMEX for the Etileno XXI proyect.
2011
After the ALVI and Egon merge in ALVEG, IDESA is reorganized in four sections: Petrochemical, distribution, logistics and applied businesses.
2012
ESLL opens its offshore installations at Veracruz.
2013
Cyplus IDESA is created as a joint venture between IDESA Group and Cyplus of Evonik to produce sodium cyanide.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The Technology Development Center IDESA, SA de C.V. (CDTI), started operations in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz in August 2007. We currently have facilities in our industrial units Coatzacoalcos, Tlaxcala and Irapuato, in which we have organic synthesis laboratory, pilot plant and laboratory analytical laboratory characterization.
