Grupo IDESA´s Responsible Care Policy
It is a distinctive interest of Grupo IDESA to attend its employees' and workers' needs in order to guarantee their health in a safe and efficient working environment. We are concerned, as well, about the safety of the community around our facilities and the environment, in order to achieve harmony among all.
Likewise, we are interested in undertaking transcendent actions, directly through our company, products and with the participation of customers and suppliers for the enhancement of the environment and social welfare.
Responsible Care Guiding Principles
- Seek out and address community concerns about the responsibility for our products and operations.

Produce and develop chemical products, which are manufactured, distributed, used and disposed under effective safety schemes.

Transform environmental, health and safety aspects into priority regards of our products and processes.

Continuously improve the performance of raw materials, use of energy, water and other resources; reduce emissions and wastes from origin in an economically productive way.

Ensure communication with our employees, clients, community, and authorities, about the environmental and health risks associated with the use and handling of our products.

Advise our clients about the use, transportation and disposal of chemical products under safety standards.

Operate our plants in a safe way, in order to protect employees, the community and the environment from any harmful effects.

Support, foster and spread any research that increases the environmental, health and safety effects information of our processes and products.

Colaborate with authorities and industry in the handling and disposal of hazardous wastes.

Participate with our government in the development of laws and regulations to protect the community, the work area, and the environment.

Promote these principles and the codes of management practices, giving advice and sharing experiences with any other entity that produces, handles, uses, transports or disposes chemical products.
Codes of Management Practices for Responsible Care
The codes of management practices aim to bring into conformity the concepts established in the "Grupo IDESA's guiding principles" for the Responsible Care program, which define the reference framework towards where the companies must focus their process for change.
These codes of management practices are classified in three priority levels according to the economic, technological, political and social situation in Mexico. In the first level are the community awareness and emergency response code, the process safety code, and the pollution prevention and control code. In the second level are the occupational health and safety code, and the transport and distribution code. Finally, in the third level is the product stewardship code.
The scope of each code is as follows:
- Community awareness and emergency response code: To rise conscience in the neighbouring community and implement emergency response programs .
- Process safety code: Risk reduction in installations and productive operations.
- Pollution prevention and control code: Protection of the environment avoiding damaging emissions.
- Occupational health and safety code: Health and physical care for workers.
- Transport and distribution code: Prevention and control of traffic accidents which involve chemical products strengthening an adequate handling and commercialization.
- Product stewardship code: Developing of safe products through the productive chain, sharing information related to danger, risk and control measures.
