When the petrochemical industry in Mexico began to develop, the vision of a group of investors came up with the objective of establishing a company according to the needs of the country. This is how Síntesis Orgánicas rose as one of the pioneers of the Mexican petrochemical industry, and later, after the change of the name to Grupo IDESA, it has consolidated as a pillar of this significant industrial branch during more than 47 years .
As of 1974, an accelerated development process began for Grupo IDESA. The demand of petrochemical products multiplied, together with the Mexican transformation into one of the world´s top petroleum producers. Based on its operating experience, Grupo IDESA had the capacity to adapt state-of-the-art technology and even to create its own.
Due to strategic and administrative needs, the creation of Grupo IDESA, S.A. de C.V. which was already a successful reality, was formalized in 1981, as a holding company whose purpose was to coordinate, integrate and consolidate functions among the subsidiary companies, and to promote new investments .
Difficult years began by 1982, not only for Grupo IDESA but for the entire country and oil-related industries. The decline in the crude oil prices and its by-products unstabilized the international and domestic markets; however, thanks to an unfailing administration, Grupo IDESA could pass through these difficult moments and continued growing.
It is important to highlight the effort made by Grupo IDESA on environmental pollution prevention, by incorporating efficient equipment to reduce pollution in all its plants. In relation to industrial health and safety matters, Grupo IDESA has implemented strict security measures together with the continuous improvement of its processes in order to attain sensitive savings in the consumption of energy, water and other services. |
